Solar Soil is a place where light takes root. A small countryside of words and images, where each poem breathes like young leaves in the sun. The collection invites us to be present in the illuminated earth. A subtle work that doesn’t seek to possess itself, but rather to create space. For simplicity. For curiosity. For a life close to the source.

Drawing and writing have always been my natural outlet. I wanted to create a small, subtle booklet that could reflect what I had seen, felt and experienced. Especially since, until now, my Spanish limited me from expressing myself explicitly. Looking back on the past period, I created enough to gather into book.
Each copy brings together 10 hand-drawn illustrations from my sketchbooks, made in the landscapes of Málaga, Colmenar, Zubia and Polopos. Alongside are 11 poems written outdoors in dialogue with the environment. I digitized and prepared each work for print. And through desktop publishing and layout design, composed the journey of the book.
Every page is hand-bound and carefully trimmed, giving each copy a personal and artisanal character. Wherever possible, the collection is printed on recycled paper. A conscious choice out of respect for nature.
